Garroting Gas is a magical poison that causes its victim to suffocate. Alexandra Quick suffered its effects twice: once in the basement of the Charmbridge Academy, and once (along with Galen) in the Registrar's Office. Mary Dearborn mentioned the Gas a method of killing Quick that had been suggested to her by John Manuelito.
