Gwendolyn Adams (b. 1990) attended Charmbridge Academy from 2001 to 2008. She has long straggly blond hair, a slightly protuberant nose with a pimple on it, and glasses, and tends to act patronizing toward younger students.
She served as a chaperone for the sixth-grade students Anna Chu, Angelique Devereaux, Alexandra Quick, Darla Dearborn, Constance and Forbearance Pritchard, and David Washington on their trip to the Goblin Market in Chicago to buy school supplies toward the end of the summer of 2007.
While shopping in Grundy's, she inadvertantly insulted Washington when she cautioned him against leaving the store without paying, and he interpreted the warning as racist. She earned the nickname of "Gwen the Goony Witch" from Washington. She later broke up a fight between Quick, Washington, and Benjamin and Mordecai Rash.
In April of 2008, Adams again served as a chaperone for the sixth-grade students on a field trip to Chicago for Muggle Awareness Month. Presumably, she graduated in June of 2008 along with Hilary Dearborn.
Her relation, if any, to professor Wesley Adams is as yet unknown.
Adams' given name is Welsh for "white ring" (gwen meaning "white," dolen meaning "ring"), while she shares her surname with an American President.
